Activities and responsibilities

The Scientist Nucleic Acid Extraction & Automation R&D is anchored in the product development team with interfaces to regulatory affairs, marketing and production teams, will report directly to the Head of Research & Development and is responsible for:
  • Development of innovative molecular diagnostic products and technologies for veterinary medicine with a focus on nucleic acid extraction and automation/robotics
  • Collaboration within interdisciplinary project teams and across company functions
  • Project management with internal and external project partners
  • Scientific presentation of R&D results
  • Launching new products to market in compliance with industry/regulatory standards including technical customer support
  • Life cycle management and technical support for existing product lines
  • Continuous extension of deep technology knowledge and improvements

Qualification profile

Position requirements:
  • Scientific degree (PhD) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, or a related field and deep interest in automation and robotics
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern molecular biology techniques, in particular nucleic acid extraction and amplification technologies
  • Extensive practical/lab experience with molecular biology techniques solutions is a must and knowledge about lab automation solutions is a plus
  • Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing techniques and ability to use Bioinformatics tools
  • Ideally at least 3 years of experience in research and development.
