The position is a part-time position (25,03 h/w) and to be filled as soon as possible. The position is project-related offered on a temporary contract for two years with extension possibility for one more year. The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. The salary corresponds to level 13 TV-L.
Activities and responsibilitiesThe spectrum of our research covers several aspects of clinical and functional genetics with the focus on imprinting diseases, pain-associated neuropathies and ciliopathies by using state-of-the-art technologies like Next Generation Sequencing.Main focus of the proposed project will be to analyze the role of a newly identified disease-associated gene in cellular lipid homeostasis and to elucidate its implication for neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration in vitro and in vivo. The project will feature multiple approaches of cellular and molecular biology like cell culture, tissue dissection/primary cultures, in vitro therapy, transcriptomics, imaging, histological analysis and generation of animal models (mouse/fish).
- excellent M.Sc. degree in biology or a biology-related field
- good knowledge and technical skills in cell/molecular biology
- fluency in written and oral English (good German skills would be a big plus)
- preferably experience with animal models (mouse, fish)
- highly self-motivated and creative with excellent trouble-shooting skills
