PhD project: Mathematical modelling of single-cell dynamics

In the field of  “Mathematical modelling of single-cell responses” the research group of Dr. Stefan Legewie offers the following PhD project: Mathematical modelling of single-cell dynamics

Description:

The aim of this PhD project is to further develop single-cell modeling approaches in close collaboration with experimental partners. The project will focus on the robustness in cell cycle networks. We recently characterized the molecular events controlling chromosome segregation and their distribution into daughter cells, and observed an astonishing robustness in their timing (Kamenz et al., 2015). A quantitative model describing these phenomena should be developed during the PhD project. Furthermore, the robustness analyses should be extended to other cell cycle networks together with experimental partners.
