The Fraunhofer-Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME offers a PhD POSITION for the project:
Reduction of environmental pollution by optimized bioavailability of nanocoated colloidal dosage forms

The successful candidate will be investigating the potential adverse effects (toxicity) of nanocoated drugs on fish, using the zebrafish embryo model. The methodological spectrum will range from microscopy-based life imaging to toxicogenomics and toxic effects will be evaluated at various exposure conditions on molecular, cellular, organ, organism and behavioral level.

What we expect from you:
We are seeking for a highly-motivated and research driven individual with excellent credentials, who is intrigued by a project at the interface between pharmacology, toxicology, chemistry and environmental sciences.
You preferably hold a degree (MSc or Diploma) in a biosciences, medical or environmental sciences related discipline.
Knowledge or experience in the work with fish or other aquatic organisms would be advantageous but not a requirement.
You like working in a multicultural environment where a good knowledge of English is fundamental.
You are ambitious, dedicated and you work independently equally well as in a team.
You are flexible and willing to travel and work at the Aachen and Frankfurt location of the IME.
