The junior working group “Systemic Inflammation and Vascular Disease” at the Center for Thrombose and Hemostasis (CTH)/Center of Cardiology is looking for a part-time (65%) Phd Student (m/f/d).

The position is initially limited for 3 years.

Activities and responsibilities

  • Investigation of the relationship between IL-17A mediated autoimmune diseases and cardiovascular comorbidity in the mouse model
  • Analysis of immune cell migration in autoimmune psoriasis and the associated vascular inflammation
  • Investigation of vascular function, blood pressure and cardiac function in murine autoimmune models
  • Focus on flow cytometric examinations of various organs with immunological focus
  • Guidance of Technicians, BA and MA students

Qualification profile

  • Completed university degree (Master) in a natural science course (Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Chemistry, Genetics, Anthropology)
  • Interest in mouse experimental approaches in the field of vascular biology and immunology
  • Creative approaches to solve scientific questions
  • Independent and organized work and teamwork required experience in writing scientific publications (peer-reviewed research articles) are a plus
