The Natural and Medical Sciences Institute at the University Tübingen has immediate opening for a postdoctoral position in the development of correlative neurotechniques. Our lab is located at the NMI and closely collaborates with the Dept. of Molecular Neurobiology (NMI), nearby SMEs (Multi Channel Systems GmbH) and neuroscience labs in Tübingen. The NMI - a non-profit foundation under civil law - conducts applied R&D in the fields of biomedical applications, pharmaceutical biotechnology, and interface analysis.
Job description:
Under the direction of Dr. Günther Zeck (Head of Neurophysics Group) the post-doctoral associate will combine electrophysiological recordings using high-density microelectrode arrays, morphological identification of recorded neurons and optogenetic stimulation. As a model tissue we envision to interface brain slices to microelectrode arrays. This project represents an exciting opportunity for scientists with a strong background in neurophysiology to expand their expertise towards neurotechnological applications.
