The Institute:
The NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute at the University of Tübingen (NMI) is a non-profit organisation, a private foundation, located at the Science and Technology Park of Reutlingen/Tübingen. 175 researchers and technicians are involved in applied R&D in the fields of pharmaceutical biotechnology, medical products as well as surface and interface analysis. The NMI is one of the leading institutes within the field of multiplexed immunoassay technologies and is equipped with a state-of-the-art proteomic facility.

The Position:
The candidate will be a member of the GO-Bio-Team focused on the development of immunoaffinity mass spectrometry assays and their application to pre-clinical safety biomarker qualification and validation in body fluids and tissues. The prestigious GO-Bio award is given to promising new research approaches and to enable commercial exploitation.

PhD in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry with a focus on quantitative mass spectrometry. Expert knowledge of the theory and practice of nanoLC-MS/MS of peptides as well as data analysis tools for quantification are desirable. Strong communication and presentation skills in English are important. Additional skills in biochemistry and a basic understanding of bioinformatics are a plus.

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist. The skills to work and contribute to several projects in a multidisciplinary environment are essential. The current position is offered for a three year period, including the option to join the GO-Bio spin off biotech company.
