Postdoctoral position in Tumor Immunology

A postdoctoral position is available to study the role of novel immune modulators in the context of tumor immunology at the Chair of Pharmacology of the University of Fribourg. Research in the laboratory headed by Prof. Carole Bourquin focuses on the role of innate immunity for the generation of anti-cancer responses. A major focus is the development of immunotherapeutic strategies (recent publications: Kobold et al., J Natl Canc Inst, 2014; Heidegger et al., Blood, 2013; Zoglmeier et al., Clinical Cancer Research, 2011; Bourquin et al., Cancer Research, 2011). In the proposed project the successful candidate will investigate novel targets for cancer immunotherapy.

Qualifications: Postdoctoral candidates should have a PhD in life sciences and first publications in the field of immunology or cancer. Candidates should have a strong interest in studying activation pathways of the immune system and their impact on tumor progression. Experience in tumor immunology is a plus.

We offer: The successful applicant will be integrated in the young and dynamic team of the Chair of Pharmacology at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructures including an automated flow cytometer and access to campus core facilities, and collaborates with research groups in immunology and cancer on campus and at national and international level. In particular, the lab participates in a Swiss collaboration network on cell migration in cancer and immunity.
The city of Fribourg is beautifully situated at the foot of the Swiss Alps. Due to a central position in Switzerland, all other major Swiss cities are easily reached by train or car. The position is available starting November 2015.

Application: Applicants are invited to send their CV with publication list, a letter of motivation and two letters of reference to office-pharmacology@unifr.ch before September 30, 2015.
