Scientist as Global Toxicology Manager (m/f)

Global Toxicology Manager (m/f) Medical Affairs, Sandoz Development Center, Sandoz GmbH Kundl

Area of Responsibility

  • Toxicological (risk) assessments of general and genotoxic impurities for products in development and marketed products
  • In silico evaluations of potential genotoxic impurity with QSAR tools
  • Planning, management and oversight of in vitro and in-vivo preclinical studies
  • Health Hazard Assessment of APIs and intermediates for Permitted Daily Exposure (PDE) and Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) calculations
  • Toxicological enquiries
  • Environmental risk assessments (module 1.6.1)
  • Active collaboration with cross-functional partners (Product Development; HSE; MS&T; Global QA; Technical Operations)


  • Education: Academic degree in life sciences (pharmacy, medicine, veterinary), with specialisation in toxicology (Certified European Registered Toxicologist (ERT) or equivalent)
  • Languages: Fluent in English
  • Experience: Experienced in toxicological activities in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry; understanding of drug development and commercialization processes; knowledge of the regulatory environment; experience in overseeing or conducting pre- clinical studies; understanding of study design and methodology and have an understanding of the need to balance safety and efficacy concerns, working in cross-functional teams and/or in matrix organizations
  • Skills: strategic and quality mind-set, with ability to see a broader picture; high quality, critical thinking, process and performance orientated; prioritizes activities and projects; exercises good judgment on regulatory, legal, quality and technical related compliance issues; positive and ‘can-do’ approach; biased towards finding solutions and win/wins; responsiveness and flexibility
