Redbiotec based in the Zürich area is seeking for a scientist in the field of vaccine development.

About Redbiotec AG: Redbiotec AG produces multi-component virus-like particles (reVLPs®) and other protein complexes for the use as novel vaccines and biologics. These protein assemblies are produced using Redbiotec’s proprietary protein co-expression platform (rePAX® technology). The main focus of the company is the generation of vaccine products to prevent Herpesvirus infections. Redbiotec also has programs against other viral diseases such as influenza. Your role:  We are looking for a scientist to strengthen our HSV-2 vaccine development team. In this field you will be involved hands-on in the development of vaccine candidates in the laboratory. Therefore, experience with a strong focus in the field of cell culture, recombinant protein expression and purification as well as product characterization including immunological assays is required. Expertise in the field of virology and immunology is necessary. Knowledge in the field of herpesviruses and on preclinical development would be a plus. You will report to the head of the HSV vaccine program. We are looking for a flexible, well-organized, open-minded, creative and communicative team player with leadership skills to expand our motivated team.

Your qualifications:
  • PhD in Virology, Immunology or similar   
  • Expertise in virology and immunology. Expertise in the field of herpesviruses would be a plus.  
  • Experience in cell culture (ideally insect cell culture), protein expression, purification and characterization including immunological assays. Experience in molecular cloning would be a plus.
  • Project management skills
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills required
  • Good communication skills and entrepreneurial flair
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
