Doctoral thesis at the LMU Munich: Genetic analysis of the AP4 transcription factor in mouse models

We are looking for highly motivated candidates that wish to perform a doctoral thesis (Dr. rer. nat.) in an excellent biomedical research environment.
Our group is focusing on the control of metastasis-related processes by transcription factors and microRNAs, with an emphasis on p53 and c-MYC regulated pathways. In the past we have described AP4 as a c-MYC-regulated transcription factor which is associated with poor survival and metastasis of colorectal cancer (Jackstadt et al. Journal of Experimental Medicine 2013; Oncotarget 2014; Cell Death&Disease 2014; Jung et al. PNAS 2008).
In the planned project next-generation sequencing approaches and the analysis of genetically engineered mouse models of cancer will be used to elucidate the role and functions of AP4 down-stream of the proto-typic oncogene c-MYC. Candidates should ideally already have experience in working with genetically modified mice.
