Junior Research Group Leader / Postdoc

The Department of Molecular Medicine (Prof. Dr. Klaus Schulze-Osthoff) at Tübingen University (Tuebingen, Germany) offers a position for a Junior Group Leader or experienced postdoc in the fields of immunology or tumor biology. The position is initially available for a period of 3 years, but extension is possible upon successful performance. Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience (TVL E13 to E15).

The applicant must have documented postdoctoral research experience. In addition, the candidate is expected to aim for the attraction of extramural funding and to develop independent research projects. An attractive start-up package covering research staff, running costs and investments as well as modern equipment and access to excellent scientific facilities will be provided. This position offers the possibility to obtain the prerequisite for a professorship (habilitation).

The Department of Molecular Medicine focuses on several projects at the interface of tumor biology and immunology (see http://www.ifib.uni-tuebingen.de/research/schulze-osthoff.html). As an interfaculty institute, the group belongs the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science. We provide an international, innovative, well-equipped and scientifically stimulating surrounding with multiple interactions to both of these faculties. The department is affiliated to the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) and embedded in several (inter)national research networks.

Successful candidates will have a strong background in molecular and cell biology, genomics, tumor biology, immunology or experience with genetically engineered mouse models. Ideally, the candidate will strengthen our research in the areas of transcriptional regulation and epigenetics, but other research fields in basic or translational research will also be considered.

Candidates should send their application, full CV, and eventually a summary of future research plans, at latest by December 1, 2015 to:
