Junior Research Group Leader

The position is initially limited to 5 years with a tenure option upon positive evaluation by the faculty of Medicine. It is located at the Institute of Experimental Immunology (IEI). The five research groups at the IEI focus on the investigation of the mechanisms underlying immune-mediated diseases and of anti-infectious defense.

The junior research group will be embedded into the lively immunological community in Bonn and collaborate with the Excellence Cluster “lmmunoSensation”, other DFG Collaborative Research Centers and the University clinic of Bonn University. It is intended to strengthen our expertise in bioinformatic data analysis, including multi-OMICS data analysis, functional genomics,single cell RNA-Seq,epigenomics (ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq) and metabolomics.

Activities and responsibilities

It is expected that the candidate develops an independent research portfolio.

Qualification profile

Applicants should possess very good programming skills and gave expertise in integrating multiple datasets to arrive at biological insights, also by mathematical modeling.
Ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A PhD in Life Sciences, Informatics, Mathematics or in a similar field is required.
