Master-Thesis in \'Immuno-epigenetics\'
at the German Rheumatism Research Centre ('DRFZ'), Berlin
is looking for a Masterstudent (m/f).
In recent years it has become evident that the epigenetic structure of the genome harbors extensive information about the differentiation and activation state of a cell and allows conclusion on its developmental pathway and future potential.
As members of the German Epigenome Programme ('Deutsches Epigenom Programm – DEEP') we are generating epigenomes of T lymphocytes in health and under chronic inflammatory (rheumatic) conditions. These large genome-wide datasets serve as a rich resource to identify master regulators in normal and pathologic T cell differentiation which are under epigenetic control. Such key control elements are promising targets for therapy which we are analyzing for their function and transcriptional regulation in detail.
We are looking for a Masterstudent (m/f) who is interested in doing his/her Master thesis (minimum 6 months) in the exciting interdisciplinary field of 'immuno-epigenetics', combining epigenetics and T cell immunobiology. The successful candidate will learn and master techniques from both disciplines as well as classical methods for cellular and molecular biology (e.g. isolation and culture of murine and human T lymphocytes, multi-color flow-cytometry, reporter-gene assays, qPCR, etc.). We expect a high degree of motivation and commitment towards science and lab work, prior experiences in immunological / molecular biology research is appreciated but not mandatory. The common language in the group and at the DRFZ is English.
Application is open until the position is filled. Please send your application including a CV, a brief letter of motivation, relevant certificates and (if available) contact details for references exclusively via email to: Dr. Julia Polansky-Biskup: Julia.Polansky@drfz.de
