 Master’s Thesis in Regenerative Medicine

Our working group “Frankfurt Initiative for Regenerative Medicine” at JW Goethe University  in Frankfurt is working extensively on basic and clinical research in the field of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
In our research, we utilize a combination of tissue engineering and electrical stimulation approaches in in vivo and in vitro experiments, with the ultimate goal of developing new treatments for patients suffering with tissue loss or amputation.
At present we are expanding our research team and are looking for highly motivated individuals who wish to pursue the research part of their Master’s Thesis in regenerative medicine. The aim of this research is to discover the mechanisms underlying the effect of electrical stimulation on tissue regeneration.
We offer:
  • Clinically relevant topic with extensive preliminary work
  • Exciting and intellectually stimulating environment
  • Collegial and friendly atmosphere
  • Well-established laboratory
  • State-of the art laboratory
  • International research team
Techniques used in this project:
Stem cell culture (2D and 3D); in vitro electrical stimulation; cell morphology/differentiation/migration/viability assays; gene expression analysis, qRT-PCR, western-blot; histology, ICC, IHC; as well as basic light and fluorescent-microscopy and bioinformatics methodologies.
Applicant requirements:
- Students with study focus in Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar.
- Proficiency in English.
Successful applicants will be invited for an interview.
