Ph.D. position in the field of Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy

The clinical translational research group “Immunotherapy” within the Institute of  Experimental Immunology (IEI), University of Bonn, invites candidates for a:

Ph.D. position in the field of Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy
Effective vaccines against intracellular pathogens or cancer should induce strong and durable T cell responses. We develop vaccination strategies that use combinations of distinct adjuvants that improve immune responses synergistically.
The candidate will establish different pre-clinical tumor models and identify mechanisms that can modulate the improved anti-tumor immune responses.
Your profile
Highly motivated student with a degree in Biology, Bio-Medicine or similar,  who is willing to work with mice and, preferably, has hands-on experience with immune cells, cell culture and tumor immunology. Team player, autonomous working and good communication skills are essential.
The position is available immediately for approx. 3 years. The clinical translational research group “Immunotherapy” is part of the Immunosensation Cluster and is located within the Institute of  Experimental Immunology (IEI; head Prof. Dr. C. Kurts) and Oncology, Hepatology and Rheumatology (head Prof. Dr. P. Brossart).
It  is a recently established research group offering state-of-the-art research, good mouse facilities, a highly interactive and stimulating environment (; and a very close connection to the clinic.
