The Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) invites applications for its

Doctoral Program Fellowships funded by the German “Excellence Initiative”

Würzburg is one of Germany’s leading life sciences universities. Internationally renowned research centers as well as other research institutions provide exceptional research opportunities. The GSLS comprises more than 350 PhD students and runs research training programs in the following sections:

Biomedicine | Clinical Sciences | Infection and Immunity | Integrative Biology | Neuroscience

We offer
  • widely visible international research environment
  • personal fellowship for three years provided by the GSL and a host laboratory
  • funding of research and conference expense  (5000 EUR/year, granted for at least one year)
  • supervision and mentoring by a thesis committee
  • network of peers and tutoring for international students
  • scientific and professional skills training (including mentoring program for female PhD students)
We expect
  • passion for and experience in research
  • excellent university degree obtained within the last two years, usually an MSc or Diploma (if graduation is expected by January 2016 you may apply) 
  • proven excellent oral and written English skills
  • eagerness to work in an interdisciplinary and  
  • international environment
  • a clear understanding on what you want to work on
