Salary according to TV-L E13 (65 %)

Aim of this project is to decipher chemokine-dependent molecular mechanisms in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer`s disease. The migration pattern of peripheral myeloid cells and their cellular interaction partners in the CNS will be investigated by studying mouse models of neurodegeneration. A translational approach is implemented by assessing immune mechanisms in patients with Alzheimer`s disease. These studies will lead to a better understanding of the fundamental mechanisms that mediate neuroinflammation in Alzheimer`s disease.

This project is funded by the Alzheimer Forschung Initiative eV.. Successful candidates are expected to be highly motivated and passionate for pursuing academic careers. Experience in immunology, molecular biology or cell biology is required.

Start of employ: At the next possible date.

Duration of contract: until September 30th 2017, extension possible
