The available PhD position is supporting a project in the Priority Program SPP1757 'Glial heterogeneity'. The project is designed to examine synaptic integration in NG2 cells using, patch-clamp, two-photon imaging techniques in brain slices from rodents.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible and will last for the period of the SPP 1757 subject to satisfactory progress.

The ideal candidate will show a strong interest in cellular neurophysiology and synaptic transmission. Prior research experience with scanning microscopy techniques or patch clamp is advantageous. Candidates must hold a Master degree or equivalent in Neuroscience. Candidates should also demonstrate aptitude in written and spoken English.

Salary will be according to the German PhD-salary scale TV-L E13.
