PhD position in Molecular Biology

The Department of Plant Biochemistry, Albrecht-von-Haller-Institute for Plant Sciences at the Georg-August-University Göttingen is offering a
PhD position in Molecular Biology
(Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L; 50%)
for three years, starting presumably in March 2016 (plus/minus one month). The applicant will work on the project: "Protein turnover at the oil bodies of plants". The position will be financed by the DFG (German Science Foundation).
The PhD position is available in the research group of Dr. Till Ischebeck at the Department of Plant Biochemistry of Prof. I. Feussner at the Georg-August-University Göttingen, Germany. The Ischebeck laboratory applies a combination of cell biological, biochemical and genetic studies to investigate the turnover of proteins and lipids at the oil bodies of seeds and pollen tubes.
The third party funded project will explore the role of a scaffold protein in this context.
Applicants require a master or diploma in Biology, Biochemistry or related fields and should be highly motivated to work in plant sciences. Experience in cell biology, biochemistry or plant genetics are desirable. The project will benefit from an excellent scientific environment, state of the art equipment and the graduate program of the GGNB (Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences).

The University of Göttingen is an equal opportunities employer and places particular emphasis on fostering career opportunities for women. Qualified women are therefore strongly encouraged to apply. Disabled persons with equivalent aptitude will be favored.
The application files will be returned after a holding period of three months, resp. destroyed in case of an electronic application.
