PhD position in Molecular Cell Biology/Biochemistry

A PhD position is available in the lab of Prof. Dr. Ralph Kehlenbach at the Center for Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology in Göttingen, Germany. The project focuses on structural and/or cell biological aspects of protein transport between the nucleus and the cytoplasm (for recent publications see Roloff et al., J. Biol. Chem. 288, 3952-63; Thakar et al., 2013, Mol. Cell. Proteomics, 12, 664-678; Frohnert et al., 2014, PLoS one, 9(2):e88887 and Port et al., Cell Reports, in press). We take part in the Goettingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB), which is funded by the German Federal and State Government (Excellence Initiative; http://www.uni-goettingen.de/en/56640.html). The project is funded by the DFG.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a degree (diploma/masters) in life sciences and a good understanding of biochemistry/cell biology. Experience in cloning, protein purification, microscopy and/or structural biology is preferred.
