PhD position in Molecular Cell Biology/Biochemistry

A PhD position is available in the lab of Prof. Dr. Ralph Kehlenbach at the Center for Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology in Göttingen, Germany. The project focuses on structural and/or cell biological aspects of protein transport between the nucleus and the cytoplasm (for recent publications see Port et al., 2015, Cell Reports, 13, 690-702; Pfaff et al., 2016, J. Cell Sci. 129, 502-516; Frohnert et al., 2014, PLoS One. 9(2):e88887). We take part in the Goettingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB), which is funded by the German Federal and State Government (Excellence Initiative; http://www.uni-goettingen.de/en/56640.html). The project is funded by the DFG.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a degree (diploma/master) in life sciences and a good understanding of biochemistry/cell biology. Experience in cloning, protein purification, microscopy and/or structural biology is preferred.
