PhD Position in Tumor Immunology

The Department of Molecular Medicine is located at the Interfaculty Institute of Biochemistry and focuses on several projects at the interface of tumor biology and immunology. Situated in an interfaculty institute, the Department of Molecular Medicine belongs to the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science. We provide an international, innovative, well-equipped and scientifically stimulating surrounding with multiple interactions to both of these faculties. Activities and responsibilities

The Department of Molecular Medicine at Tübingen University offers a PhD position in the field of tumor immunology. Specific aim of the PhD project will be the functional characterization of two novel regulators of transcription factor NF-kappaB using various cellular and genetically engineered mouse models. Successful candidates will have strong backgrounds in molecular and cell biology, immunology or experience in working with transgenic mice. The position will be initially available for 3 years (salary according to TVL E13, 65%).

Qualification profile

Experience in molecular biology, immunology or tumor biology is recommended. Applied techniques will include a broad rage of methods in molecular and cell biology as well as in immunology, such as FACS phenotyping, multiplex cytokine assays, qRT-PCR, mutagenesis, RNAseq, reporter gene assays, chromatin immunoprecipation, basic protein biochemistry and eventually animal studies.
