in cellular and systems neurophysiology. You are invited to join a collaborative research center on fear, anxiety, anxiety disorders ( http://sfbtrr58.uni-muenster.de/homesfbtrr58.0.html ).

More specifically, we are interested in mechanisms and pathways in amygdala and related systems mediating conditioned fear and anxiety, and in the impact of human-relevant polymorphisms in neurotrophic systems on fear circuits. We use electrophysiological, optogenetic and pharmacological techniques.

The ideal candidate will hold an above-average Diploma or MSc degree in a relevant subject, and has already shown a strong motivation for basic neuroscience. Prior experimental experience in electrophysiological (patch clamp) and/or behavioral techniques would be highly valuable.

Duration of contract: 3 years, extension is planned

Start of employment: as soon as possible
