PhD Student Positions
Part-Time with 50-65%
Salary according to TV-L E13 (Research Scientist, 50-65%)
in cellular neurosciences. Our research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and neurotransmission (https://campus.uni-muenster.de/anatomie1/the-institute/). For several projects funded by DFG and University grants, we seek highly motivated and interested graduate students to investigate the role of neurexins and their ligands in normal synapse function and in mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders. The projects will use combinations of (cryo-) electron microscopic methods, patch-clamp electrophysiology, live imaging microscopy, cell culture, protein biochemistry and molecular genetics.
Ideal candidates will hold an above-average Diploma or MSc degree in a related subject (biology, physics, etc.), and have already shown a strong motivation for basic science. Prior experimental experience with the nervous system and relevant techniques is an asset.
Duration of contract: 3 years, extension is planned
Start of employment: as soon as possible
