PhD student positions in plant development under stress and in root microbiomics

The lab of Prof. Patrick Schäfer is recruiting 3 PhD students at the Institute of Molecular Botany, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Ulm University (Germany) (starting date: July 2020 or after).

The Institute and Faculty offer an excellent research infrastructure with an interactive and international scientific community, situated in the beautiful Danube-Swabian Alb region, close to the Bavarian Alps.

Activities and responsibilities

Candidates will follow research projects in the very timely research area of root stress vs. development and/or root microbiomics. Working with Arabidopsis and barley as model plants, high-resolution analyses (e.g. single cell-based omics and bioinformatic analytics) and latest imaging technology will be used. There is also the possibility for short research visits in the labs of our collaborators in China, France, Mexico or the UK.

Please visit the Schäfer lab web page for more information about our research topics and pertinent publications.
