Postdoc Position in Biology /Biomedicine 1/16

A position for an immunological postdoctoral scientist (TV-L 13) embedded into the German Excellence Cluster ImmunoSensation and the DFG SFB704 is available at the Institute of Experimental Immunology of the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (Director Prof. Dr. Christian Kurts).
We are studying antigen cross-presentation, an important mechanism in the immune defense against cancer (see Burgdorf et al, Science 2007; Burgdorf et al, Nature Immunol 2008; Semmling et al, Nature Imunol 2010; Kurts et al, Nat Rev Immunol 2010; Tittel et al, Nat Methods 2012; Schiwon et al, Cell 2014). The successful applicant will address the roles of chemokines in the generation of antitumor immune responses, using newly generated transgenic tools and advanced imaging technology.
Required is a PhD in Biology, Molecular Biomedicine or in similar fields. Previous experience in 2-photon microscopy and in in vivo immunological research, especially tumor vaccination and CTL biology, are desirable. The ideal candidate possesses a keen interest in immunological research questions, is highly motivated and capable of integrating into a young and successful research team.

The University of Bonn is an equal opportunities employer. Preference will be given to suitably qualified women or to persons with disabilities, all other considerations being equal.
