Postdoc position

starting as soon as possible for three years initially.

The successful candidate will work within the collaborative research project EXASENS – Microbial diagnostics for asthma and COPD patients, with a focus on filamentous fungi and yeasts as triggers of exacerbations. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Main topics of the project are:
•   Characterisation of the surface proteome of filamentous fungi
•   Recombinant production of fungal proteins
•   Application of cell culture and animal models
•   Immunoproteomic analysis of serum antibodies

Our requirements: PhD in life sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology). Good knowledge in standard techniques of biochemistry, microbiology as well as molecular biology is expected. Experience in proteomics and recombinant protein production would be preferable. We would welcome a highly motivated co-worker with excellent communications skills and the ability to work on a cross-disciplinary project. The applicant should be able to supervise Master and PhD students.

The successful candidate will be hosted in the Department Molecular and Applied Microbiology (Prof. A. Brakhage).
