Postdoctoral researcher for next-generation sequencing facility

The University of Luxembourg has the following vacancy in the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB):
 
Postdoctoral researcher for next-generation sequencing facility (m/f)
 
  • Fixed-term contract 2 years, 40h/week with the possibility to be turned into a permanent contract afterwards.
  • Employee status (start date: as soon as possible)
  • Reference number: S-STR-4022-06-B
 
Area: Management and running of in-house next-generation sequencing facility.
 
Tasks/Mission:
 
  • Setup and implementation of an in-house next-generation sequencing (NGS) facility.
  • Lead and coordinate technicians.
  • Administrate access to NGS equipment and services.
  • Consult scientists on the technical capabilities of NGS and support experimental projects.
  • Participate in training of users in NGS methods.
  • Develop, implement, and assess new assays for NGS.
  • Cooperate with technology developers if a project needs additional technical development.
 
Profile:  
 
  • A PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related disciplines.
  • Experience with Illumina Platforms.
  • Experience with latest DNA sequencing technologies and NGS protocols.
  • Excellent working knowledge of English.
  • Strong skills in organization and communication.
