Technical Assistant (CTA, PTA, MTA or BTA) - m/f
The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be maintenance of the laboratory’s mouse colonies. Specific responsibilities will include colony management of a large and diverse repertoire of genetically-engineered mice (including use of the in-house colony management database), identifying and genotyping mice, familiarization with animal welfare issues and German and European laws concerning animal use, and working with laboratory personnel to assist in colony management and training. In addition, the successful candidate will have routine knowledge of PCR and molecular biology techniques, and basic genetics, which is required for successful propagation of the mouse colonies. Depending on the experience level, the successful candidate will also have his/her own project(s) to further the scientific endeavors of the laboratory.
The position is fixed term for two years with the possibility of an open-ended contract. Depending on the presence of the tariff conditions, a classification to salary group 9b of the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD Bund) is possible.
