Technical Assistant in the field of Systems Toxicology

The Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors (IfADo) at the University of Dortmund is an interdisciplinary research institute that combines toxicology, immunology, neuroscience, biological imaging and occupational medicine/biology.
The research group Systems Toxicology at IfADo is currently accepting applications for a

Technical Assistant

for a period of 3 years. The position will support projects that are part of an international consortium between scientists and medical professionals working on liver disease.

Requirements:
As part of routine experimentation in support of on-going projects, the candidate will perform:
  • standard molecular biology techniques such as plasmid cloning and PCR, as well as RT-qPCR
  • Western blotting
  • Immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry
  • Mammalian cell culture and transfection with fluorescent fusion proteins.
Opportunities to diversify the candidate’s skill-set into advanced live-cell confocal microscopy, intra-vital multi-photon imaging  and 3D tissue reconstructions are available depending on the interest of the candidate.
