Founded in 1996, Laboratoires Réunis is currently one of the biggest laboratories for medical analyses in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, operating on a national and international level.
Our molecular diagnostic company Fast-track Diagnostics (FTD) was founded in 2007. The focus of FTD lies on the development and commercialization of multiplex real time PCR (RT-PCR) assays to detect a wide range of viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. FTD is selling worldwide a wide range of affordable, high-quality multiplex assays. Since October 2011 the company is ISO 13485 certified with most tests having a CE certificate. Our kits are used in small to big labs, in hospitals, in private, public and reference labs. In the last years FTD created a global network that deserves many countries worldwide.

3 Field Application Specialists (f/m)
Full time. Home based. Germany, Austria, Denmark and Sweden.
 
Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and External Relations, the Field Application Specialist will be responsible for developing new business and providing on-going expert technical support to new and existing customers for the range of FTD products. The successful candidate will work with teams based in Malta, Luxembourg and the UK to provide feedback and contribute to the development of customer care programmes and business growth.

Location
We are looking for three home-based candidates:
1. one person based in Denmark or Sweden covering northern Germany and the Nordics,
2. one person in central Germany and
3. one person in southern Germany also covering Austria

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing and growing FTD business in their assigned region for both current and prospective customers in hospitals, universities and private laboratories.
  • In collaboration with the marketing team, develop sales strategies.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships from purchasing officials to bench technicians.
  • Manage FTDs response to tenders.
  • Conduct technical seminars at customer sites, trade shows and workshops.
  • Assist in the introduction of FTD kits into the routine laboratory work-flow.
  • In collaboration with other members of the application specialist team, deal with technical enquiries and assist in the programming and operation of compatible PCR platforms and analysis of runs.
  • Report regularly on customer contacts, demos, and incidents.
  • Develop and update training materials for customers.
  • Contribute to the set up and maintenance of a database of product validation data.

Experience and Requirements
  • Qualified to Degree level in Microbiology or Science.
  • Three years medical technologist experience plus experience in a sales and/or customer support role.
  • Knowledge of the diagnostic market and methods of infectious disease testing.
  • Excellent technical presentation skills.
  • Established customer networks would be an advantage.
  • A valid state driver’s license.
  • Fluency in German and English is required for all the persons; for post Nr. 1 also a good working knowledge of Danish/ Swedish.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively (more than half of time) and to work outside normal hours as required to travel to and stay near customer sites.
  • Good interpersonal, team and communication skills; able to communicate with a range of people including purchasing departments, laboratory technicians, laboratory heads and clinicians.
