European Business Development and Technical Specialist Drug Discovery Solutions

Our client is a market leader for providing products and services for supporting Drug Discovery/ screening programs within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech and some academic institutes. The company is renowned for their innovation and broad range of products in this segment. Their range of target- based drug discovery solutions are being currently used in assay development and screening departments and drug profiling areas in all the major pharmaceutical programs world-wide.

The company is looking for a Business Development and Technical Specialist to grow their business in an exciting new area of their product range. In particular, they are offering a unique screening technology, that utilizes human primary cell co-cultures to address the need for more translational approaches in drug discovery.

The role is based in Germany (or Switzerland or Austria) / DACH and is home office based. Much of the work will be done in DACH but will also include international responsibilities in other parts of Europe together shared with other team members.

Essentially the role is a consultative one and you will be working with and supporting the sales teams in Europe to help and advise customers on the products and product groups, which fit best to their needs for their current and future drug discovery/ drug profiling programs.

The Business Development and Technical Specialist will also performs scientific and/or technical seminars as appropriate and help and inform the local Sales personnel of new opportunities in the market as well as the customer’s perception of company’s technology. If necessary, the Business Devlopment specialist should also advise customers on possible business models necessary for them to make a purchase decision.

Ideally, you will have had experience of working in drug discovery programs in pharmaceutical, biotech or in an academic setting. You probably have a Master’s degree in Immunology, Oncology, Pharmacology or related science although a Ph.D. is strongly preferred. It would be very advantageous if you have experience and capabilities in technical science-based commercial /selling  experience in discovery services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies or with a preclinical CRO but that is not essential. Recent hands on experience with Cell-based assays, Primary cells, Phenotypic screening, and high throughput screening would also helpful. You should feel comfortable and ideally have had experience of dealing with Senior Research Fellow, Director, VP, and CSO level of organizations
