Life Scientist as Senior Sales Executive (m/f)

Job Title: Sr. Sales Executive   Department: Commercial

Reports To: Director, International Sales

Primary Role: 

The Sr. Sales Executive is primarity responsible for generating RapidHit system sales in the assigned territory and maintain a relationship with purchasing entitiy. The sales executive will devise sales plans and strategies with short and long term business goals in alignment with corporate goals and objectives. Staying abreast of market changes and opportunities will be expected with timely and organized communication to the commercial team. Extensive travel will be required, i.e., 50% or greater depending on territory needs. The ability to sell effectively to the key decision makers in the federal, state and local governments will be key to success in the role, e.g., law enforcement agencies, criminal justice agenices and forensic crime labs.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales quota of IntegenX RapidHIT systems in assigned territory.
  • Develop, organize and implement sales activities within the assigned territory to maximize sales of RapidHIT instruments.
  • Build a growing funnel of sales prospects with accurate representation in the company CRM.
  • Responsible for accurate forecasting of all instrument sales in assigned territory on a regular basis.
  • Partner with Technical Account Managers to drive early stages of the implemenation strategy and related activities for the successful installation and routine use of the RapidHit technology.
  • Deliver effective sales presentations to key stakeholders in customer accounts. Also, devise compelling business cases to justify purchases of RapidHIT systems.
  • Effective collaboration with Marketing, Service and Support colleagues to provide the highest level of support for IntegenX customers.

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates resolution of customer issues by demonstrating a strong and broad base of knowledge in business processes, IntegenX products and through collaboration.
  • Maintains technical competence of IntegenX products and the related policies governing the use of RapidHIT and competitor products in the marketplace through extensive reading, product training, industry conferences, etc.
  • Works with Marketing team to identify and document target customer needs, new applications and new market opportunities
  • Submits expense reports and fulfills other administrative requests in a timely manner.

Job Skills:
  • Ability to deliver effective sales presentations in small and large group settings.
  • Ability to manage complex sales processes with multiple decision makers
  • Ability to create and deliver effective sales proposals.
  • Possess strong time management skills to effectively manage and direct projects supporting business objectives.
  • Knowledge of sales cycle for instrument and consumable products.
  • Knowledge of DNA forensics applications, crime lab operations and/or related biometric use cases.
  • Knowledge of CRM software systems such as Salesforce.com for account and opportunity management.

Job Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of business goals, strategies, and needs of customers (forensic laboratories, law enforcement, military, government)
  • Strong sales acumen with ability to influence C-suite level decision makers.
  • Knowledge of the government procurement process is a plus.
  • Experience and willingness to perform instrument demos, when needed.
  • Knowledge of key opinion leaders in the field of forenics/biometrics is a plus

Additional Job Abilities:
  • Superior skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Travel 50%

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Forensic Science or related Science Degree
  • At least 5 years of capital sales experience in forensics, law enforcement, related government markets, life sciences 
  • Experience with SalesForce or other CRM system.
