The Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing in Cologne invites applications for a position as
Public Relations Executive (f/m) (job code 13/2015)
Founded in 2008, the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing is one of Europe's first scientific facilities focused on ageing and holds a place at the forefront of basic biomedical science. The institute has close ties with nearby research institutions (CECAD, DZNE, University of Cologne etc.) focused on ageing research. Well equipped with state-of-the-art technology and located in a new building, the institute provides outstanding research opportunities for promising young scientists. The institute is centrally located in Cologne, one of the most vivid cities of Germany.
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic, collaborative and international team in an excellent scientific environment.

You have expertise and experience in the public relations (PR) field. A background in biomedical research is an advantage. You have excellent German and English communication skills (a plus if you are bilingual). You are independent, organized, communicative and work well in teams. Among others, your tasks will comprise writing of press releases, working with internal communication at the institute, networking with media and science journalists, editing of the institute’s website, organization of PR events as well as coordination of the PR work with collaborating institutions and the Max Planck Society.
