Technical Assistant, Manufacturing/Production

Job Summary

The primary focus of the new position will be manufacturing and quality control of ancillary materials at Juno Therapeutics in Munich, Germany. Training for this role will be in Gottingen, Germany for approximately 3 months and will then move to our Munich facility after approximately 6-9 months. The key deliverables for this role are completing routine production assignments with a high quality and timely output.

Primary Responsibilities

Collaboration in the manufacturing and quality control of ancillary materials for clinical use:
  • Assisting in protein fermentation and purification processes
  • Aseptic processing in GMP environment (cleanroom class A in B)
  • Performing quality control/ in process control testing of samples of intermediates and/or final product
  • Completing documentation required by process transfer protocols, validation protocols, standard operating procedures, and batch records.
  • Performing tasks in a manner consistent with the safety policies, quality systems, and GMP requirements.
  • Completing training assignments to ensure the necessary technical skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in upstream and downstream processing of biologics; experience in manufacturing of ancillary materials is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and German required.
  • Experience in the following preferred:
    • Protein fermentation in bioreactors (Fed-batch fermentation processes)
    • Protein purification by chromatographic methods (affinity chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography)
    • Molecular biological and Biochemical methods (SDS-Page and Western Blot, Biotinylation of Proteins)
    • Aseptic processing in GMP environment (cleanroom class A in B)
    • Operation of analytical instruments (HPLC, Bioanalyzer, Photometer)

Education Requirements
  • Technical assistant or bachelor degree in relevant science or engineering discipline, or equivalent in work experience.
