Senior Marketing Manager

Job Overview:
Based in our Munich office, coordinate and lead the sales and marketing effort both tactically and strategically to support product portfolio. Successful performance contributes to an increase in sales and market shares as well as product adoption, awareness, and utilization by customers.

Education, Experience and Skills/Knowledge:
  • Masters or Ph.D. with 2-3 years of experience in Molecular Diagnostics or Hematopathology fields.
  • 3-5 years of biotechnology commercial experience with sales and marketing focus.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating abilities in a broad range of areas including, but not limited to marketing; strategic planning; market research, business development; financial analysis; and sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Fluency in English and German is a requirement. Ability to write and speak in other languages is an advantage (French is preferred).
  • Ability to work in a small, fast growing organization.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges to “roll up the sleeves” and go for an opportunity even when outside of defined role or area of expertise.
  • Strong and proven leadership capabilities, particularly influencing and motivating teams across divisions, cultures and time zones.
  • Experience in the sales and registration of regulated medical devices and reagents (e.g., CE-IVD products) is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred for this position.
  • Travel requirement is 20-30%.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key business driver and member of the commercial team in Sales and Marketing for the Reagent portfolio by identifying, developing, and executing strategic key growth initiatives to support corporate goals for both direct and/or distribution sales channels.
  • Develop and oversee broad-based educational, branding, and awareness campaigns to support market expansion.
  • Conduct market review of business development opportunities, merger and acquisitions (M & A) candidates, partnering arrangements, and other Invivoscribe businesses.
  • Provide Market and Competitive Research for product development pipeline.
  • Work with business development, senior management and technical evaluation teams to craft appropriate additions to expand current product portfolio.
  • Work in a cross-functional team, responsible for the lifecycle maintenance of the commercial strategy and new product introductions which include additional testing services.
  • Drive expansion and manage the distribution network in Europe and other key territories to achieve saturation, supporting market requirements, and driving sales to reach or surpass sales milestones.
  • Assist in the development of various business plans, identify areas of concern and modify marketing programs to address changes in the marketplace.
  • Translate marketing plan into tactical action deliverables, while supporting and exploring new ways of customer interaction.
  • Assist junior sales and marketing team members to successfully execute activities.
  • Generate annual sales forecasts and budgets to senior management.
