 Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics is an international research institute with approximately 350 employees, working in the field of medical genomics.
In the Mass Spectrometry Group a
Student Research Assistant
(e.g. Master thesis)
Code: 15-13 M
position, to assist the ongoing research, is available. Research assistants are usually employed on a basis of 50h a month. Position lasts for 6 months and is available from September 2015.
We are seeking highly motivated students major in molecular biology/biochemistry/bioinformatics who would like to conduct research for their Diploma/Master thesis in our lab.
The research interest of our group is based in the field of mitochondrial pathologies. Primary objectives for the candidate include, but are not limited to: quantitative proteome and metabolome profiling of mitochondrial disorders.

Qualifications:
The applicant should hold a bachelor degree in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics or related fields. The applicant must show strong written and oral communication skills and a substantial interest in mass spectrometry.
Responsibilities will include the development and execution of experiments, data analysis, statistics, and collaborating with other members of the research team. Proficiency in English is necessary.
