(Single-cell) Bio-Engineer / Biotechnologist

KU Leuven - The Laboratory of Computational Biology is seeking a highly motivated Bio-engineer/Biotechnologists interested in microfluidics, robotics, genomics, bioinformatics and high-throughput sequencing to study the systems biology of neuronal identity in the brain.

Your goal will be to further develop and apply droplet microfluidics and robotic fluid handling technologies for single-cell RNA-sequencing and single-cell epigenomics and apply these technologies to study neuronal identity and ageing in the brain. We use the fruit fly and the mouse as model systems.

  • MSc Bioscience Engineering, MSc Biochemical Engineering Technology, or similar.
  • Experience with one or more of the following techniques is a plus (but not required): molecular biology, robotics, programming, microfluidics.
Depending on your background and interests, we can offer you a position as research assistant, as technical staff, as PhD student, or as postdoc.
