Research Associate (m/f)   (32E/2016)

The position will be available from September, 2016, provided that the funds will be approved. The employment contract is limited to three years. The regular weekly working time will be 39 hours per week. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD-Bund. The place of work is Dresden-Rossendorf.

  • university degree (Diploma or Master) with very good marks in the field of chemical engineering, process engineering or automation technology
  • interdisciplinary thinking, independent scientific work and active communication with scientific partners
  • in-depth knowledge in the area of chemical process technology (esp. electrolysis) including underlying phenomena such as chemical reaction technology, fluid dynamics, mass and heat transfer
  • knowledge in process analytics as well as in control technology and system dynamics
  • experiences in dynamic process simulation using simulation software (e.g. Aspen Plus, ProSim, MATLAB Simulink)
  • experiences in using CFD software for flow simulation (e.g. ANSYS CFX, ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM) are advantageous
  • selection, adaptation and testing of online analytics and process measurement techniques for a novel process combination of high temperature electrolysis and synthesis of hydrocarbons at Iab scale
  • development and optimization of a process control concept using dynamic simulation of the integrated plant system
  • optimization of fluid dynamics and flow control in chemical reactors by flow simulation using CFD (gaseous phase incl. chemical reaction, mass and heat transfer)
