Scientist or engineer as Product Marketing Manager - Mass Spectrometry

We are looking for an experienced Product or Marketing Manager to join a world leading organisation. You will be managing the current and future low flow Liquid Chromatography (LC) product portfolio. You will be working closely with global product and cross-functional teams to ensure development and commercialisation of innovative LC-MS products and solutions.
Understanding customer needs related to the front end LC-MS instrumentation, software and columns is a key requirement. In this stimulating and highly visible LC-MS Solutions Manager role you will be liaising with key opinion leaders on the development and evaluation of new products and solutions.

Key responsibilities
  • Define user persona through collection and interpretation of voice of customer (VOC) and ensure this information is communicated to R&D groups
  • Identify and analyse competitive offerings in the market, create winning strategies
  • Analyse and report on sales data and market trends
  • Initiate and manage collaborations with key opinion leaders (KOL) worldwide to validate new product concepts and solutions
  • Translate customer front-end LC-MS needs into new business opportunities
  • Create internal positioning documents that will be used for external messaging
  • Own and manage product launches and ensure that all departments are prepared
  • Development of technical sales training and competitive responses
  • Manage the production of technical marketing literature
  • Work closely together with application chemists and R&D scientists
  • Participate in customer seminars to promote our products and solutions
  • Work with sales and market development to develop tactical marketing plans for LC-MS product and solutions
  • Perform customer satisfaction surveys
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and strategic business plans
Your background
  • MSc/PhD degree in life science, chemistry or biotechnology
  • Hands-on expertise with nano LC-MS instrumentation
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical marketing or product management
  • In depth knowledge of the liquid chromatography (LC) and LC-MS market
  • Familiar with LC-MS customer needs in one of the following fields: proteomics, biopharma, protein research or metabolomics
  • Proven track record of building good relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams
  • Excellent listening and communications skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of time
