industry since 1996, with currently over 480 employees at sites in the EU, Asia and the USA. As a leading service provider with an international focus, we offer comprehensive advice on the registration of agrochemicals, biocides, industrial chemicals, veterinary pharmaceuticals, medical devices and biotechnological pharmaceuticals.
To support our team we are currently seeking an
      Information Professional - Scientific Literature Search (m/f)
      in full-time or part-time (min. 20hrs/week)

Role and Responsibilities
  • Perform professional literature searches in open internet sources and STN databases to retrieve external information relevant for Knoell within a given budget
  • Chemical substance searches on industrial chemicals worldwide, agrochemicals and biocides=>substance identity, physico-chemical data, toxicity, environmental fate, ecotoxicity and pharmacology
  • Scientific literature searches on other topics, e. g. test methods, pharmacological / medical information
  • Review and look for similar substances based on the substance identity description
  • Preparation of structured search reports
  • Communication and close co-operation with colleagues and also customers
Profile and Qualifications 
  • University degree in Chemistry
  • Experience with:
  • Retrieval of scientific information using the host STN
  • Database indexing systems like Mesh, Emtree, CAS Roles
  • The analysis & visualization of scientific information, e.g. search results from the host STN
  • Chemical structure searching using CAS databases
  • Basic knowledge in Toxicology, Ecology, Pharmacology would be a benefit
  • Good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent language skills in English and German (spoken and written); additional language skills would be an asset
  • Self-motivated and organised way of working
