PhD candidate (m/f) for the Design of Novel Biodegradable Nanocarriers

as soon as possible (Part of the European (Horizon2020) Project “Biorescue”, 3 years, payment according to German law (TVöD, 50%) associated to the Max-Planck-Graduate School (MPGS).

Your tasks
• Working in an interdisciplinary environment
• Guided PhD period by the MPGS
• Synthesis of biodegradable polymeric drug carriers by modern bioorthogonal polymer synthesis in emulsion
• Detailed colloidal understanding of the drug carriers with advanced analyses methods (scattering techniques, thermo analysis, spectroscopic methods)
• Development, planning and analyses of biomedical relevant drug carriers in close collaboration with biological and medical research partners
• Establishing reliable protocols for syntheses, modification, quantification, application of nanoparticular drug carriers
• Degradation studies
Your ideal qualification
• M.Sc. in chemistry or an equivalent education
• Sound knowledge of polymer syntheses, especially colloid sciences.
• You are ambitious, self-motivated and have high team work capabilities
• Hands-on experience in emulsion polymerization, polymerization techniques, analyses (Light scattering)
• You possess excellent writing skills
• Experience in science communication is an advantage
