2 Doctoral Scholarships (Traffic Management & Modelling)

The Research Training Group "SocialCars – Cooperative (de-)centralized traffic management" (https://www.socialcars.org/home.html) and the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (https://www.daad.de/hochschulen/programme-weltweit/promotionsprogramme/gssp/en/23570-graduate-school-scholarship-programme/) jointly award

Two Full Scholarships for Doctoral Studies in Autonomous Driving, V2X Communication, Vehicle Routing and Platooning, Microscopic Traffic Modelling, Geoinformatics and Human Factors Psychology.

The Research Training Group (RTG) is jointly hosted by three universities: Technische Universität Braunschweig, Leibniz Universität Hannover and Technische Universität Clausthal.

Our research focuses on the development of cooperative traffic management strategies aiming of increasing the safety, sustainability and efficiency of urban road traffic. A key research question is how to integrate automated vehicles and new mobility services in the shared public space.

  • Presentation of your work at (international) conferences

Qualification profile

We are looking for highly motivated international candidates with an outstanding Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Geoinformatics, Applied Mathematics, Traffic Engineering, Psychology or a related discipline. Furthermore, we expect
 
  • the ability for analytical thinking
  • an aptitude for interdisciplinary and independent work
  • initial ideas regarding the doctoral project
  • a very good command of English
  • the willingness to learn German

Benefits

We offer two positions in an interdisciplinary team working in a highly topical area of research. The RTG offers systematic supervision and mentoring throughout the doctoral work and is designed to allow for graduation within three years.

Starting at the earliest on 1 October 2019 and at the latest on 1 December 2019, funding will be provided for three years through the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme.
