AT TU Dresden, the Centre for Information Services and High Performance Computing (ZIH) offers two open positions, subject to granted funds, in an EU project. The focus is on the development and evaluation of software tools for the performance analysis of highly parallel applications and the usage of non-volatile RAM in high performance computer systems. The positions are to be filled as soon as possible with a contract period until 30.09.2018. The period of employment is governed by §2 Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG).

Tasks: research and development on the efficient use and operation of high performance computing systems; design, development and improvement of software tools in the area of performance analysis and optimization of highly parallel applications; development and optimization of scientific computing applications; cooperation with international project partners and vendors.
Requirements: university degree (diploma or master) in either computer science, mathematics, engineering, or any related natural science; advanced programming skills in C/C++ as well as with shell and scripting languages; demonstrated practical experience regarding the design, realization and maintenance of software projects; very good command of English (written and spoken) required for working in an international project; high self-motivation, commitment, and flexibility as well as the ability to work in and contribute to a dynamic team of young scientists. Experience in programming and applying high performance computing systems, using of Linux operation systems as well as performance analysis and optimization tools are beneficial.
