Investigation of Artificial Intelligence Methods on Process Data in the Context of the Vehicle Development Process

The position will be carried out by the Daimler AG. The position shall start in March 2019 and is funded for 3 years. It is a full-time position according to the Daimler PhD salary. Hiring is done by the Daimler AG.  PhD supervision is accomplished by Ulm University, while project supervision is accomplished by the Daimler AG.

Activities and responsibilities

  • Active participation in Daimler projects
  • Active participation in student projects at Ulm University, which are related to the PhD project
  • Evaluation of AI methods in the context of process data of the vehicle development process
  • Conceptualization and realization of a prediction framework for process instances with the goal to improve them

Qualification profile

  • Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Preferably, strong skills and experiences in software development and software engineering
  • Preferably, skills in Data Science and Machine Learning
  • Preferably, skills in Artificial Intelligence Methods
  • Preferably, skills in the automotive domain
  • Preferably, strong interest in the automotive domain
  • Basic experience in clear writing of scientific reports and articles
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player
  • Very good skills in English in speech and writing
