Research Associate Process Systems Engineering

At the TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Automation, the Chair of Process Control Systems/Process Systems Engineering Group offers a position as
Research Associate
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting 01.08.2020. The position is limited until 31.03.2022. The period of employment is governed by Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification.

Activities and responsibilities

The focus of your task is the formal modeling and transformation of recipes for modular process plants. Furthermore, the implementation and extension of a process control level for orchestration of the plant, which processes the recipes and executes the underlying service-based steps, is another essential aspect of the work. The research results will be coordinated with the project partners from industry and science and will be published at international conferences and in recognised journals.

Qualification profile

above average university degree in the field of Computer science, information systems engineering, electrical engineering, process informatics or related fields. You should have an enthusiasm for new challenges in recipe engineering and information modelling. This requires solid knowledge of describing information models and model transformations, as well as very good programming skills in common languages. An independent, goal- and solution-oriented way of working and inter- and multidisciplinary thinking as well as a confident command of the English and German language in spoken and written. Experience in process engineering is desirable.
