The research group of Prof. Dr. C. Zielinski at the Center for Translational Cancer Research (TranslaTUM) at the Technical University of Munich(TUM) is seeking a new team member for a PhD position in the area of

Bioinformatics for high-dimensional single-cell data analysis 
Research in the “Human Immunoregulation Group” headed by Prof. C. Zielinski focuses on dissecting the heterogeneity of human T cells and their transcriptional networks in cancer and autoimmunity. High-dimensional data from single-cell RNA sequencing platforms as well as single cell proteomics (CyTOF) serve as the basis to dissect human immunoregulation in health and disease.

Activities and responsibilities

Your tasks:
  • implementation of an advanced computational framework for scRNAseq and CyTOF analysis
  • design and establishment of interactive data visualization
  • exploiting machine learning methods for immunological data analysis and visualization
  • active participation in research projects
  • writing of manuscripts 

Qualification profile

Your profile:
  • Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or a related Life Science discipline (with strong background in Bioinformatics), qualifications for entering a PhD program
  • advanced programming skills (in particular R and Python)
  • strong background in statistical methods
  • experience in the analysis of large-scale omics data (i.e. RNAseq)
  • excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • highly self-motivated and enthusiastic for interdisciplinary research
