The Institute of Computer Science at JGU Mainz invites applications for a PhD student in the HPC group ( http://www.hpc.informatik.uni-mainz.de ). The successful candidate will work in cutting-edge areas of designing and implementing parallel algorithms on various architectures (such as CUDA-enabled GPUs, CPU clusters).

You will
  • Design and implement efficient parallel algoithms for scientific applications (e.g. bioinformatics, computational physics, big data)
  • Write scientific papers
  • teach tutorials
  • MSc and BSc in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or related areas
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Knowlege of algorithms and their mathematics analysis
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Highly motivated
