Senior Research Scientist in Satellite Communications (M/F)

Your Role
 
The senior research scientist will be a member of the Signal Processing and Communications Research Group (SIGCOM)(http://wwwen.uni.lu/snt/research/sigcom) and is expected to assume a leading role in defining, acquiring managing, and scientifically contributing to projects in the area of Satellite Communications.
The candidate will carry a leading role in the area of physical layer wireless communications, focusing on cognitive and cooperative communications, multiuser/spatial processing, resource management and optimization with applications to novel satellite network architectures.
The candidate will advise and support PhD candidates in their thesis research. English is the working language of this international laboratory. The research group is engaged in a number of European projects and conducting research in close collaboration with the industry partners.

Your Profile
 
  • PhD in Electrical or Communications Engineering with focus on physical layer communications.
  • At least 3 years of PostDoc research experience in a relevant research area.
  • Documented research expertise desirable, not all mandatory, in: satellite communications, cognitive radio, physical layer wireless communications, resource management/optimization, cooperative multiuser communication systems including multiuser detection/precoding and spatial processing.
  • Proven track record in carrying a leading role in research project acquisition and project management.
  • Experience in defining and managing research collaborations with industrial partners.
  • Experience in defining, acquiring and managing research collaboration with international partners.
  • Experience in supporting PhD candidates in their research.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. Knowledge of French or German is considered as an advantage.
